MCA’s ‘Anti‑Parent’ Refusal: How a Corporate Snub Shaped Black Flag’s DIY Myth

This episode traces how Black Flag’s debut LP Damaged was denied by MCA because of an “anti‑parent” lyric, and how that rejection fueled the band’s rebellious reputation and the rise of SST Records’ independent distribution network.
