Minor Threat’s First EP: How a 300‑Copy Pressing Sparked the Hardcore Revolution

In this episode we dive into Minor Threat’s 1981 debut 7″—its cramped recording, raw sound, and DIY release under Dischord Records—and explore how that tiny pressing became the spark for Washington, D.C.’s hardcore scene, the tape‑trading network, and a new model of independent production. We trace the band’s origins, the studios, venues, fanzines, and touring practices that turned an underground experiment into a global influence.
