Misfits and the Rise of Horror Punk

The episode follows the Misfits’ early days in Lodi, New Jersey, as they crafted a horror‑themed aesthetic that merged punk rock with B‑movie imagery. We trace their DIY approach—limited pressings, photocopied flyers, and mail‑order networks—and examine how releases like "Static Age" and later "Famous Monsters" cemented an icon that influenced bands from the 80s to today.
