Operation Ivy and the East Bay Ska‑Punk Explosion

This episode follows the Berkeley‑based band that fused hardcore speed with ska grooves, releasing a handful of influential tracks on an independent label while cultivating the DIY scene at 924 Gilman. We trace how their politics, tight musicianship, and underground distribution helped spark a new movement in punk music. The conversation covers recordings, touring, fanzines, and the lasting legacy that influenced later ska‑punk acts.
