Revelation Records: DIY Roots and the Birth of Emo‑Hardcore
Om avsnittet
This episode follows Revelation Records from its modest 7‑inch debut in New Haven to becoming a catalyst for youth‑crew hardcore, emo, and post‑hardcore worldwide. It examines how Jordan Cooper’s and Ray Cappo’s hand‑made pressing plants, mail‑order catalogs, and all‑ages show flyers built an international punk infrastructure that shaped underground culture and set a DIY benchmark. The story shows the label’s evolution through changing scenes—from New Haven to Huntington Beach—while revealing its lasting influence on modern hardcore and emo.
