The Misfits’ 1983 Split: Internal Strife, Legal Rumble and Post‑Breakup Reign

This episode explores the fissures that tore the Misfits apart in 1983—creative clashes between Glenn Danzig and Jerry Only, touring chaos, financial disputes and a lawsuit over the band name. We trace how the split set the stage for an enduring cult following, reissues that kept their music alive, and how the mythology of a broken punk outfit became one of the most resilient brands in underground history.
