The Only Ones and the Legacy of ‘Another Girl, Another Planet’
Om avsnittet
From their London roots to a CBS release in 1978, The Only Ones forged a sound that fused raw punk energy with melodic hooks and psychedelic touches. This episode unpacks how Peter Perrett’s songwriting, Alan Mair’s bass lines, and the band’s DIY approach built an underground cult following; it explores the single “Another Girl, Another Planet” as a snapshot of their hybrid style and examines how they negotiated major‑label offers while maintaining punk credibility.
