The Only Ones and Their 1978 Single ‘Another Girl, Another Planet’: A Brit Punk‑Pop Myth Made Real
Om avsnittet
In this episode we dig into The Only Ones’ breakout single, exploring how a London quartet combined raw punk energy with melodic pop hooks, the role of Epic’s production team led by Nick Lowe, and the DIY tactics that let them reach underground fans before slipping to obscurity. We unpack the record’s creation in Morgan Studios, the band’s touring through CBGB, Max’s Kansas City, and all‑ages gigs, and why their sound still reverberates across indie and post‑punk acts today.
