The Screamers and the Untold Story of an Unreleased Punk Experiment

This episode explores the L.A.–based band The Screamers, whose 1970s synth‑heavy shows built a reputation for theatrical chaos but never produced a commercial release. It traces their Seattle roots, live legacy at venues like Whisky a Go-Go, and the DIY choices that kept their music alive only in bootlegs and fanzines, while examining how their experiment helped seed later synth‑punk and post‑punk scenes.
