The Zeros: Latino Punk on the California Barrios

This episode follows the story of The Zeros, a Chula Vista band that blended Ramones‑style brevity with Spanish‑language melody in the mid‑1970s. It traces their DIY beginnings—from abandoned houses and homemade four‑track recordings to self‑pressed 7‑inch singles—through local all‑ages venues, mail‑order networks, and early Latino punk’s influence on later bands across the Southwest.
