A Call of Cthulhu RPG Actual Play of the Grindhouse scenario "Deliver Us From Evil". Part (2/4)

September 1972, Washington State. 10 years after the disappearance of their friend, a group of old friends reunite for a weekend canoeing trip in the Olympic National forest. Their whitewater journey down the Lost River in the shadow of Mt. Mystery unearths terrible, subterranean secrets hidden within themselves and the primeval wilderness.

Each player character has a dark secret and a role to play in the story that they aren't aware of yet.

After some bizarre run-ins with the locals in town, the group has gotten out on the river and faced the rapids. An afternoon on the river may be just the thing to calm the nerves.

Our players were:

1. Ted Brantly (Played by Adam) - The Avenger: Leader of the friend group. He is a successful building contractor and considers himself an outdoorsman who doesn't need a guide despite his friends' insistence that they hire one for the trip. He has brought along his niece, Margo.

2. Donny Shows (Played by Ashlyn) - The Angel: Part of the friend group. An idealistic man, he's found great success as a talent agent for musicians in Los Angeles.

3. Curt Kendrick (Played by Wes) - The Word Bearer: Part of the friend group. He works an unfulfilling grind at his father-in-law's Seattle advertising firm.

4. Larry Frippe (Played by Toby) - The Pariah: Part of the friend group. He works as an insurance salesman, plays golf and tries to keep his wife, Dot, happy.

5. Margo Pendergrass (Played by Olivia) - The Blessed: Ted Brantly's 15 year old niece. When she learned of Ted's upcoming trip, she begged him to take her, for reasons she can't quite fully articulate. As a member of the high school swim team, she is well equipped for the river... she thinks.

6. Harlyn Evans (Played by Morgan) - The Psychopomp: A wilderness guide hired by the friend group despite Ted's insistence that a guide isn't necessary. Harlyn is working guide gigs in order to save up enough to make a big move to Alaska.
