#6 In Residence With: Bella Comsom

In Residence With is a podcast series that delves into the creative processes of sound artists during their residencies at Sound Art Lab in Struer, Denmark. Each episode offers an intimate glimpse into the artists' explorations, experiments, and reflections as they develop new work. At Sound Art Lab, Brazilian sound artist Bella Comsom is deepening her research into the electromagnetic fields surrounding trees. Using a handmade antenna, she records these inaudible signals—focusing in Struer on trees growing close to the sea. Each day, she walks along the coast, collecting field recordings and tuning in to the subtle presences of the landscape, reflecting on our relationship with the natural world. Her practice centers on listening as a way to sense the invisible connections between living beings and their environment.
