Fiber Magic & Stitch Witchery: Knitting, Ancestral Craft, and Enchanted Thread

Send us Fan Mail

In this Yuletide episode of the Magick Kitchen Podcast, Leandra Witchwood and Elyse Welles are joined by fiber artist and co-host of the Knit a Spell podcast, Katie Rempe, for a deep and soulful conversation about fiber magic, stitch witchery, and ancestral craft.

Together they explore knitting, embroidery, mending, sewing, spinning, and textile arts as ancient magical practices — ways of weaving intention, prayer, and protection directly into everyday life. From blood, sweat, and tears stitched into garments, to repetitive motion as meditation, to crafting as a gateway for intuition and ancestral connection, this episode invites listeners to remember the sacred power held in thread and cloth.

The conversation weaves through grief and healing, pandemic-era crafting, reclaiming lost communal arts, ethical making, and how working with fiber can become both spellwork and spiritual refuge. Whether you knit daily or have never picked up a needle, this episode offers a gentle invitation to slow down, listen to your hands, and reconnect with the magic humans have practiced for millennia.
