Reading Tarot Differently with Laura Tempest Zakroff

Send us Fan Mail

In this episode of the Magick Kitchen Podcast, Leandra Witchwood and Elyse Welles welcome back Laura Tempest Zakroff to talk about their new book, Tarot by Tempest, and they approach to reading tarot through pattern, rhythm, imagery, and elemental relationships. Together, they explore why tarot does not have to be intimidating, how the Minor Arcana can become more accessible, and why rigid meanings often get in the way of real spiritual insight.

They also dive into Laura’s work on the Witches’ Ally Oracle, the relationship between art and divination, and the importance of building connection with the decks and tools you actually use. Along the way, this conversation touches on sigil witchery, creative practice, collaboration, magical resistance, and what it means to let tarot become a living relationship rather than a memorization exercise.

If you have ever felt overwhelmed by tarot, or wanted a more intuitive and embodied way into the cards, this episode is a rich and refreshing place to begin.  You can explore more of Laura’s work through their Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/owlkeyme.arts/ and their website atlauratempestzakroff.com
