Michelle Yeoh Cinema: Magnificent Warriors

This week, we are discussing the newly crowned academy award winning actress Michelle Yeoh and one of her all-time classic films, ‘The Magnificent Warriors’; a big-budget, international, martial arts adventure epic! Michelle gives Indiana Jones a run for his money as a bad-ass WWII pilot/ secret agent, who goes on a high-risk mission for the Chinese government. Her assignment- to extract the leader of a remote city near Tibet, who has vital information about a nefarious plot that could put the entire country at risk! High-flying dogfights, intricate car chases, and explosive shoot outs ensue, as our protagonist and her unlikely team of heroes race against time to save the day! However, the true highlight of this picture is the phenomenal martial arts sequences, which are a showcase for not only the incredible abilities of Michelle Yeoh, but the creative genius of fight choreographer Tung Wai. Fast paced, intricately choreographed, and brutally hard-hitting, fans of the genre will not be disappointed by the plethora of astounding martial arts sequences on display.
