As host of the show, Jonathan's friends and co-hosts have affectionately called him a "human EMP." It's a humorous way to describe what is a strange and inexplicable phenomenon: electronic devices and technology, in general, tend to malfunction, shut down, or even get destroyed when he's around them. It's almost as if they're succumbing to some invisible force field that he emanates. He's always wondered if this was just a running joke or if there was some truth to it, so he decided to research and get to the bottom of it.
