3.25 - Hunt for the Wilderpeople: Chaos, adventure, and connection.

This week, we're taking it back to 2016 and discussing the New Zealand comedy-drama Hunt for the Wilderpeople. Directed by Taika Waititi and starring Julian Dennison, Sam Neill, and Rima Te Wiata, the film follows Ricky Baker, a rebellious foster kid who finally finds a loving home with Bella and her gruff husband, Hec. Following Bella's sudden death, a national manhunt ensues when Ricky and Hec, who initially clash, end up on the run together in the wilderness.

We paired Hunt for the Wilderpeople with Frenzy Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. The name "Frenzy" felt like a perfect match for the film's chaotic and heartfelt journey. With aromas of passion fruit, pineapple, and grapefruit, it's bright, vibrant, and a little wild, much like Ricky and Hec's adventure.
