Field Notes from the Zero: Why Self-Belief is a Necessary Weapon

For so many of the good ones (the tender-hearted ones, the deeply sensitive ones, the ones who actually care) self-belief can feel almost… I dunno… sketchy and suspicious.

Like, if I believe in myself too much, am I becoming arrogant? If I put myself out there, am I being self-important? If I talk about my work, am I turning into one of those cringy people who pontificates loudly on their cell phone outside the coffee shop, so everyone hears about their latest business venture?

So here’s what I’ve been thinking about lately: Being good is not enough. Having a beautiful heart is not enough. Having a meaningful mission is not enough. Having gifts, wisdom, depth, devotion, and love is not enough.

Because there are plenty of people in the world using the weapon of self-belief for things that do not have the same heart, integrity, or healing inside of them.

So what happens when the good ones refuse to pick it up?

In this first installment of Field Notes from the Zero, I’m sharing a short inspirational message on why self-belief is not ego or arrogance. And it’s definitely not becoming one of the people who hurt you. It is a sacred and necessary weapon that many of clients resist for decades before meeting me and engaging in this work.
