Getting the Grant

The plaintiff says the defendant is her ex-husband. She claims she received a grant to go to nursing school, but the money got put on her ex’s credit card. She accuses him of stealing the money, and she’s suing. The defendant says the money was a refund onto his credit card. He claims he paid her some of the grant but refused to give her the rest because she spent a lot of money before their divorce.  Then, the plaintiff says he saw the defendant crash into his car and drive away. He’s suing because the defendant told the insurance company she doesn’t even drive the car that hit the plaintiff’s vehicle. The defendant admits she was in the area when the car accident occurred but says that wasn’t her vehicle.  Plus, the plaintiff returned home from a week away and discovered her apartment had water damage. She says her upstairs neighbor’s toilet leaked, which caused extensive damage in the plaintiff’s residence. She’s suing for repairs to her apartment.
