The defendant claims she told the plaintiff she couldn’t afford the trip, and that the plaintiff offered to pay for the tickets as a gift. Plus, the plaintiff says she was stopped at a red light when the defendant rear-ended her, hitting her car with such force that she then hit the vehicle in front of her. She is suing for the cost of the damages. The defendant says the plaintiff stopped short and she was unable to brake in time. She also claims there was no damage to the plaintiff’s car.
