First, the plaintiffs say they hired the defendant to watch their dog while they were on vacation. The careless woman let the poor dog jump out a window to his death. He was still on the street dead when they arrived at the defendant’s apartment. This woman has to pay for her outrageous behavior, so they’re suing. The defendant says she left the dog alone in her apartment for 20 minutes and he broke through the screen and jumped. She’s countersuing for defamation and emotional distress. Then, the plaintiff says the defendant is her ex-fiancée, and they lived together before splitting up. The defendant still needs to pay for rent, so the plaintiff is suing for the money she says she’s owed.
