Pardon twists, weaponized orchard fruit, and ruthless turret cannibalism collided in Season 1, Episode 8 of NBC’s The Traitors: New Blood, titled "A Bad Apple Spoils the Whole Bunch," proving that when a cloaked alliance starts fraying, nobody throws you to the wolves faster than your own co-conspirators! Picking up right on the razor's edge of last week's cliffhanger, Victor’s banishment hung in the balance—until Alan revealed that challenge gold-leader Shane held the game-changing Power of the Pardon. Despite having voted against Victor just minutes earlier, Shane executed the ultimate tactical audible, reasoning that a real Traitor would never draw a permanent bullseye on their own back by screaming about a murder in plain sight. With the stroke of a quill, Victor was saved, sending the castle into an absolute tailspin and leaving the turret scrambling in the dark!
Instead of taking out their loud-mouthed tormentor right then and there, the Traitors panicked, opting to murder Abby L in hopes of deflecting suspicion toward Wyatt. Big mistake. Enormous! When breakfast revealed Abby's empty chair and Alan announced there would be zero daytime mission—dragging the players straight into an immediate Roundtable—the clock officially ran out on Tomica. Armed with the sweet taste of vindication, Victor strutted into the chamber and reopened the prosecution on "Fruitgate" with savage precision. Every stutter, defensive deflection, and clumsy pivot from Tomica only tightened the noose, especially once Wyatt called out the silence in the room and Victor warned that anyone defending her would look like a guilty accomplice.
The true theater, however, erupted when the cloaks turned inside out. Recognizing that Tomica’s ship was taking on fatal amounts of water, Joe and Katie didn't even attempt a rescue mission; they loaded the lifeboats and pushed her straight overboard! In a staggering 10-to-2 landslide, both Joe and Katie wrote Tomica’s name down on their slates, sealing her banishment and finally handing the long-suffering Faithfuls their very first confirmed Traitor scalp of the season. But if Joe thought casting a sacrificial vote would clear his ledger, the kitchen aftermath proved otherwise: Victor cornered the visibly shaken funeral director, rubbing in his victory lap while Joe nervously confessed, "If I was a Traitor, I'd probably kill you". With an ominous Highland Feast looming, the Faithful finally tasting blood, and Katie flying completely under the radar while Joe sweats through his collar, the castle has officially become a slaughterhouse.
