Bridgerton Season 4 Episode 1 | Masquerade Mishaps and the Maid Who Could

It’s Season 4 Episode 1 of Bridgerton, and Benedict has finally stopped painting naked strangers long enough to fall for a girl in a silver mask who essentially ran away with his common sense. The snark squad is deeply divided over this "Cinderella" pivot, with critics side-eyeing the lead couple for a noticeable lack of physical chemistry that even a magical masquerade ball couldn't fix. While the "downstairs" staff is finally getting some screen time, the internet is revolting over the fast-paced editing and costume choices that look more like Coachella than the Regency era. The real star of the show, however, is Katie Leung, who is chewing the scenery as the formidable Lady Araminta Gun, providing the only real spark in a season that seems more interested in social class dynamics than actual romance. Between the "Lady in Silver" mystery and the modern-day wardrobes, this season is proving that while the Bridgertons are looking for love, the viewers are mostly just looking for a corset that actually fits.
