Easy Self-compassion with Kaitlyn McCarty

003 - This week I am happy to be talking with Kaitlyn McCarty and sharing her story. Her daughter has challenges because of severe ADHD and learning disabilities.  Kaitlyn and I discuss the need to expand and grow ourselves as we parent our children. Severe ADHD, Learning disabilities and We talk about changing the expectation we had for our children and our own lives as an opening to accept the life we have.  It’s so powerful!

Kaitlyn shares about how’s she created an empowering relationship with her child’s diagnosis and for her, it creates an easier path to self-compassion as she acknowledges that what she’s confronted with is truly hard.  

I want everybody to hear how Kaityln explains compassion. Notice the way she model’s talking to herself when she’s being kind and compassionate with herself.  (*Hint*: She’s filled with curiosity rather than judgment)

We touch on grief and control and how the two are sometimes related.  It’s so fascinating!
