038: Hi listeners. This week I am back with Part 2 of my habit series based on the book, Atomic Habits by James Clear. How do we make habits? A lot of the time, self control is not your biggest issue.
I also want to emphasize, habits are not about accomplishing a goal they’re about who you are becoming. Your identify influences your habits; identity is who you believe yourself to be.
Simple decide who you want to be and prove it to yourself with small wins. I will practice said behaviorat thistime in thatlocation.
How habits work-
- Cue : something your brain can notice that tells it what to do.
- Cravings: motivation force behind every habit. Usually you crave the change in state, not the actual act.
- Response: the actual thing, habit, you do. A thought or action.
- Reward: the end goal of every habit. The cue is about wanting the reward. They satisfy us and teach us.
4 laws of behavior change:
- Make it obvious
- Make it attractive
- Make it easy
- Make it satisfying
