Episode 34 ~ 3 Steps to Mindfulness

Cultivating a MINDFULNESS practice, takes, well, practice.

Here are 3 steps or 3 places to start if you know you need to slow down and BE more present in your day to day.


STEPS TO MINDFULNESS

1. Choose a time, before bed or as soon as you wake in the morning and take 5 minutes to BE present.

If before bed, implement this: keep a notebook beside your bed and write out one thing that you are grateful from the day or that you appreciate.

Maybe have a photo that you can look at that will give you that feeling of bliss.

Or perhaps you would prefer having a reminder as soon as you wake up. As soon as you open your eyes or touch your feet on the floor, take a moment to just breathe. Post a note beside your alarm clock or in the bathroom to remind you to take this time.

2. Set a timer for atleast 1 time during the day to remind you to take a step back and bring yourself back into the present moment.

Maybe setting a reminder more than once works for you, but try for atleast one.

3. Bring FULL PRESENCE into your meal time. Shut off the TV, radio, put down the phone and pay attention to how you're eating. Actually taste your food, chew slowly and BE fully present.
