Placebo Treatments in Evidence-Based Practice with Ansi van der Walt

Ansi presented this lecture at the Vet Rehab Summit 2024, where ethical dilemmas in rehabilitation was discussed. She discusses what placebo is, challenging our current perception of it. She discusses the owners role in rehabilitation, and how placebo can impact the effectiveness of therapy through the owner. There are various mechanisms that we can influence here, including fear avoidance behaviour in the owner, the self-efficacy of the owner, and so much more.
