In this week’s episode we continue through Nietzsche's Aeonic Philosophy as laid out in one of his all time greatest hits: Beyond Good and Evil. While the first chapter dealt with an era-shattering criticism of classical philosophy which ended upon a warning about, (having killed the old philosophies) the coming of the new philosopher or Free Spirit. As our special guest, Julian The Philosopher adds some much needed historical context and nuance to Nietzsche's words and sets us up to explore the new philosopher, the first spirit and the Ubermensch in greater depth. Who are those people anyway? Still fresh with excitement from the text, Luke (that's me) fixates on the overlap between the hazy image Nietzsche paints and the mystical poetry in Aleister Crowley’s “Book of the Law,” which outlines, in slightly more poetic fashion, a remarkably similar ideal. On the free side of the show we touch upon Nietzsche's hilarious ideas about race which, despite being a little controversial today, we can still have a good laugh about with good humor on our side. In the extended side of the show we explore the Will to Power as it is introduced in the text and how it lines up with Hadit’s words in the Book of the Law. Thank you and enjoy the show!
