Gregg Braden is a five-time New York Times best-selling author, researcher, educator, lecturer and internationally renowned as a pioneer bridging modern science, spirituality, and human potential.
From 1979 to 1991 Gregg worked as a problem solver during times of crisis for Fortune 500 companies, including Cisco Systems where he became the first Technical Operations Manager in 1991. He continues problem-solving today as he merges modern science and the wisdom of our past to reveal real-world solutions to the issues that challenge our lives. His research has led to 15 film credits and 12 award-winning books now published in over 40 languages.
Gregg is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and is active with visionary organizations including the HeartMath Global Coherence Initiative and The Arlington Institute. He has presented his discoveries in over 30 countries on six continents and has been invited to speak to The United Nations, Fortune 500 companies and the U. S. military.
The United Kingdom’s Watkins Journal lists Gregg among the top 100 of “the world’s most spiritually influential living people” for the 6th consecutive year, and he is a 2020 nominee for the prestigious Templeton Award, established to honor “outstanding individuals who have devoted their talents to expanding our vision of human purpose and ultimate reality.”
This is probably one of the most powerful conversations I've been a part of yet. Gregg is not just brilliant and well versed in so many subjects, including geology, quantum physics, spirituality, human potential and ancient wisdom traditions, but has a way of explaining the possible positive outcome of today's world, a shift in consciousness for humanity, if we choose to be masters of our lives. He explains so eloquently that we are made for times like this. Our bodies are made to thrive, not just survive.
Gregg shares in this episode (and more explicitly in Missing Links on Gaia TV) that human beings go back 200,000 years and contrary to beliefs about evolution, we have had the same physiological makeup over these 200,000 years. We're wired to thrive. This pandemic has forced us to sever ties with distractions and come to terms with ourselves. He explains that if our bodies are given what they need to be their best, we will move through this with wellbeing. He sees it as our having two choices: 1. To succumb to the fear and emerge more powerless and a victim or 2. To take this as an opportunity to take time to honor the human body and master self-care and self-love.
The real question is do we love ourselves enough to find time and take pristine care of ourselves. Gregg shares some of the ways to honor your body and to thrive in times like this:
One of the gifts of this crisis is that the virus doesn't know borders; leaders all over the world are being forced to see one another as humans and families versus opponents. This is in effect forcing a new level of cooperation among our countries and leaders.
We also discussed his new book, Wisdom Codes (which I'll be reading ASAP) that took him 40 years of study and research to write. He shares the words and word patterns used by our indiginous healers and traditions, such as the Hopi, Vedas, Egyptian prayers, Christianity, Gnostic and other traditions that help with healing. The words we choose shape our reality and directly affect what we're capable of doing. Science shows that the words we use are connected to our neurons in the brain and heart. I had asked what wisdom words could be used to help right now with our healing and wellbeing. Gregg shared the Navajo Beauty Prayer, as one of the most powerful patterning of words you can say for healing. He describes beauty here as a force of nature to appreciate and be inspired by. We are changed by the presence of this kind of beauty.
The Beauty Prayer is as follows:
The beauty I live with. (meaning, seeking the force that exists to guide us in all we are)
The beauty I live by. (meaning opportunities to use beauty as a guide to share our light)
The beauty upon which I base my life. (meaning our state of consciousness matters, finding heart and brain coherence matters)
