Dr. Thomas A. Tweed, who did his graduate study at Harvard and Stanford, is the Harold and Martha Welch Professor of American Studies and Professor of History at Notre Dame University. Dr. Tweed served as president of the American Academy of Religion in 2015, the largest learned society for the study of religion. He is the author of many books, including his more recent: Religion in the Lands That Became America: A New History (Yale University Press)
