April 8, 2023, Holy Saturday Easter Vigil, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries)
Friends of the Rosary:
Today is Holy Saturday, from its official liturgical name Sabbatum Sanctum. It’s a sacred day of the Lord's rest after His victorious battle against Evil and sin.
Christ is in the tomb and the faithful sit near to mourn. Jesus' enemies are still furious, attempting to obliterate the memory of the Lord through lies and slander.
The body of the Church is represented in the Virgin Mary, as she waits near the Lord's grave keeping vigil. Mary is awaiting, in faith, the triumph of her Son over death and His resurrection.
Today, there are no liturgies until night with the celebration of the Easter Vigil. On this sacred night, we remember that our Lord Jesus Christ passed over from death to life.
