August 15, 2021, Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries)

[Comment: Entering the Glory of Heaven]

Friends of the Rosary:

Today is the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. At the close of her life, Mary was taken up body and soul into the glory of heaven entering eternity.

This dogma was defined in 1950 by Pope Pius XII. Its Apostolic Constitution Munificentissimus Deus stated: "The Immaculate Mother of God, the ever-virgin Mary, having completed the course of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into heaven."

On December 8, we celebrated the Immaculate Conception. On Christmas and on January 1, the divine motherhood of Mary. The Holy Virgin had the fullness of grace from the first moment of her existence, completely untouched by sin. The Assumption completed God's work. Like Jesus, her body did not suffer corruption.
