Friends of the Rosary:

Yesterday, the reading in the New Testament was about the Mystery of the Visitation, and today’s is about the Incarnation, the Annunciation. Mary gave her fiat, changing human history. “I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.” (Lk 1:26-38).

The profound humility of Mary — her surrendering to God — is the foundation of who we are, or should be. That’s our earthly challenge: to open our hearts and minds and trust in Jesus.

The Son of God came because He knew we needed him. Our sins lead us to total destruction, individually and collectively. Only the Lamb of God takes away the sins of the world, and in His infinite goodness and mercy gives himself entirely to us.

Christmas is a boost for all of us, another opportunity to adopt the virtue of the humility of Mary and accept Jesuscrist as the center of our lives.
