Friends of the Rosary,

We celebrated yesterday the Memorial of Our Lady of Loreto. The title refers to the house in Nazareth in which Mary was born, was saluted by the Angel, the Holy Family lived, and the Word became flesh at the Annunciation.

The holy house was transported from Palestine to Loreto, in Italy, in the fourteen century, according to the tradition.

The Basilica of the Holy House of Our Lady of Loreto—Basilica della Santa Casa—was the first international shrine dedicated to the Blessed Virgin. For centuries, it has been a Marian center and revered pilgrimage site.
