December 2, 2023, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) | Prayer for Peace

Friends of the Rosary:

The first 24 days of December are filled with celebration and preparation.

The readings in the Gospel focus on the people of the Old Testament awaiting the Messiah, John the Baptist, heralding the way for Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary and her maternal preparations.

We are getting ready for Christmas. However, too often material preparations make us lose sight.

Through Advent, we prepare for the coming of the Christ Child. Advent, which starts tomorrow, is a season of waiting and longing. We reflect on the incredible love and humility of our God in taking the flesh of the Virgin Mary.

Essentially, we prepare a peaceful place in our hearts wherein our Savior may come to dwell.
