June 14, 2024, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries)

Friends of the Rosary,

As we read today (Mt 5:27-32), Jesus said to his disciples:

"Whoever divorces his wife (unless the marriage is unlawful)
causes her to commit adultery,
and whoever marries a divorced woman
commits adultery."

The Lord prohibited divorce. Christ Jesus didn't relativize teaching on divorce as our society would expect.

His teaching was clear:

"What God has joined together, no human being must separate."

The husband and wife — male and female — become one flesh. They are brought together not just by their mutual attraction but by God.

Their union is part of God’s purposes and cannot be undone.
