Friends of the Rosary,

Today, the Third Sunday of Lent, the Gospel teaches us about the “living water.” (John 4:5-42)

The Lord addresses the baptized people through his dialogue with the Samaritan woman from whom He asks for a drink of water.

Christ Jesus says to her: “Whoever drinks the water I shall give will never thirst; the water I shall give will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

The Samaritan woman already had God's gift of faith infused within her. That’s why Jesus thirsted for her faith, kindling in her the fire of divine love.

As St. Paul wrote (Romans 5:1-2,5-8), "The love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. For Christ, while we were still helpless, died at the appointed time for the ungodly."
