Friends of the Rosary,

The 40 days of Lent are an itinerary of conversion.

The penitential season precedes Holy Week with its Paschal Triduum—Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday.

As baptized people, we recognize our fragility and mortality, and yesterday’s act of putting on ashes symbolized this attitude.

Yesterday, on Ash Wednesday, we also loudly expressed our need for divine grace for our journey on earth.

Moreover, we implored the need to be saved and redeemed from our sins and errors by the grace of God.

Over the centuries, the Universal Church has celebrated in Lent Christ’s passing from death to life.
