Laura talks about her relationship with her ex-husband and how she ensured his privacy was respected in writing this book. She also shares the details of her childhood, touching on her stepfather’s abuse; her complex relationship with her powerhouse lawyer; the pressures she felt to embody Black excellence while hiding her demons; and the inspiration behind her incredible book cover.
