Swami Kriyananda  explains both male and female tendencies. He gives a fascinating description of the male and female principles involved in creation and in the Creator.

He says that both feminine and masculine qualities are needed to balance a person’s nature.  The saints have mastered this balance. It is essential to accept who we are, either male or female. When we realize the completeness within ourselves, we will be closer to union with God.
