Filmmaker Anthony Cousins (SCARE PACKAGE, EVERYTIME WE MEET FOR ICE CREAM YOUR WHOLE FUCKING FACE EXPLODES, and the upcoming SCARE PACKAGE II: RAD CHAD’S REVENGE) joins the Video Monsters to discuss what we believe is one of the most undervalued entries in the Stephen King film canon, David Cronenberg’s THE DEAD ZONE (1983). The film notably eschews the overt body horror that Cronenberg was known for at the time to tell a cold, melancholy tale of a lonely man – played with brilliant subtlety by the legendary Christopher Walken – cursed with the gift of premonition. And yet, it may secretly be one of the most horrifying body horror films ever made…. just without all the blood and guts. So grab your cane, put on your peacoat, flip up the collar, look at yourself in the mirror, and slowly come to terms with the fact that none of us can ever be as cool as Christopher Walken.
