Stargate Atlantis - Tao of Rodney

Rodney once more comes close to death in Tao of Rodney.

This episode really is something special. Rachael thinks this is in her all-time top Atlantis episodes! This episode does some address some thing we've always wondered about. Like, there were supposedly large parts of the city underwater yet not much of Atlantis looks to be waterlogged. Also, Rodney insisting on being quarantined or at least kept in the infirmary for a while after the initial incident is a nice change of pace.

If Rodney was going to be a superhero, what would his super name be? It would have also been fun if they had been able to sprinkle in some other more "silly" side effects of Rodney's advancing intelligence. Can he now play the piano? Or maybe he suddenly figures out some long-standing Earth mystery? We didn't necessarily miss it, but it would have been fun.

The best parts of the episode, though, are the scenes at the end where Rodney goes around making amends to the various members of the Atlantis team. All the actors just do such a great job with everything they're given and it really brings such a weight to what's happening. But also, Rodney heals Ronon's scars so the show can get Ronon out of clothes….
