The little group makes their deal. As Mat and Thom arrive in Tear, a lightning flash illuminates the very home Nynaeve, Egwene, and Elayne are staying in, but Mat won't find it until Thom gets so sick he's forced to find a healer for his friend. The three boys are all in or near the city now. The chances of dramatic Ta'veren pushes and pulls on the Pattern, and on one another grow by the hour.
