A sleepy Elayne lies awake, waiting for Nynaeve to return from the Dream. Nynaeve finally wakes, though she's destraught that she may have led Birgitte into a situation which got her killed. Thom pounds on the wagon door and quickly enters carrying the naked and near lifeless body of Birgitte. To their credit, it only takes the men a moment to realize who she is. Nynaeve rushes to revive the Hero of the Horn, but even her most sophisticated healing weaves have no effect. But, Elayne has an idea; the Warder Bond.
