The deadline to fund the government is coming fast, and House Speaker Mike Johnson wants a six-month spending bill paired with the SAVE Act, which would require Americans to show proof of citizenship when registering to vote. But the Democratic Senate won't go along, and how wise would it really be to rewrite the voting laws like this 53 days before the 2024 election?
