Electro House BackSpin: 2007 - 2008 Volume 5 (Updated)

This BackSpin installment is an Electro House–focused snapshot of Dance Club Songs from 2007–2008, assembled to recreate the long-form club mixes that dominated that era. Volume 5 collects extended remixes and peak-floor anthems designed for DJs to ride, updated here to include P!nk’s U + Ur Hand (Bimbo Jones Explicit Mix). Highlights thread deep disco-rooted touches through late-2000s big-room energy: Fish Go Deep & Tracey K’s The Cure & The Cause (DJ Meme Philly Suite re-edit) stands out for its string-led, Salsoul-inflected arrangement, while Eric Prydz’s Pjanoo, Freemasons feat. Katherine Ellis, and StoneBridge-helmed club mixes supply euphoric peaks. The set also leans on Jody Den Broeder’s festival-ready reworks for Rihanna and peak-time edits from Kaskade and others to maintain momentum. There’s a short reflection here on how streaming shortened remix culture and why these six- to ten-minute club versions mattered for DJs and dancers. Expect Volume 6 to move into 2009–2010; enjoy this trip back to the stretch-of-the-night energy.
