Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984) - Controversial Christmas Slasher

It's almost Christmas, and what better way to lead up to the big day by discussing a Christmas cult classic!

We've covered the 2025 remake, and now we turn our attention to the 1984 original. Following on from a harrowing night encounter with a rather dubious Santa, Silent Night, Deadly Night sees Billy live through a Catholic orphanage, have a weird eighties sitcom day job and don the red and white suit for some festive slashing as he carves his way to Christmas.

But how does this film stack up to the recent remake? Is this a case of the original always being better or is this little more than a stocking filler
