Cozy Mystery Thursday: True Justice: Family Ties | Hallmark’s Legal Mystery Surprise?

13 min7 maj 2026

In today’s episode of Cozy Comfort Club, I’m sharing my thoughts on True Justice: Family Ties, a Hallmark Mystery released in 2024 that trades small-town cozy settings for law school classrooms, courtroom conversations, and a murder investigation rooted in grief, justice, and family loyalty.

Spoiler Note

This is a spoiler-light review and contains light spoilers, so you can decide if you want to add it to your watchlist.

This episode focuses less on what happens and more on how the mystery feels.

True Justice: Family Ties blends Hallmark comfort with legal drama, academic mystery elements, and an amateur sleuth team determined to reopen a murder case after Casey Barlow’s brother is convicted of killing her best friend.

At the center is Casey, a law student grieving the loss of both her mother and her closest friend while fighting to prove her brother’s innocence. Alongside her friends PJ, Sarah, Eli, Liam, and guidance from Professor Ambrose and DA Quinn, the group slowly uncovers hidden connections, old secrets, and a larger conversation about justice, trauma, and second chances.
