Forever (2025) First Impressions — Young Love, Nostalgia & Messy Feelings

10 min24 april 2026

In today’s episode, I’m sharing my first impressions of Forever (2025), a romantic drama based on Judy Blume’s novel, following two teenagers in Los Angeles, California reconnecting and navigating young love, identity, and everything that comes with growing up.

This is a first impressions episode, so I’m not breaking down every single detail. I’m really focusing on the overall vibe, how it felt, and whether this is something you might want to add to your watchlist.

Forever is set in 2017, and I’m not gonna lie… the nostalgia hit me almost immediately. From the house party, to the music, to those late night FaceTime calls, this really feels like a throwback to that specific time in life.

At the center of it, we have Justin and Keisha.

There’s something about their connection that just feels very natural. Very believable. It’s that kind of young love where you can tell it’s new, a little awkward at times, but also really genuine.

But at the same time, this is not just a soft, easy romance.

There are heavier themes here too. The show gets into things like public perception, shame, relationships from the past that still linger, and just figuring yourself out while everyone is watching.

And I actually really appreciated how direct the show is. It is not sugarcoating anything. There is open conversation about race, there is a lot of unfiltered dialogue, and it feels very real in that way.

One thing I also liked is how the story shifts perspective. It does not just stay with Justin. We move into Keisha’s world too, and that is where things start to feel a bit deeper and more layered.

You start to understand why she reacts the way she does, especially with everything connected to her past relationship and how people continue to bring that into her present.

So while there are definitely those soft, nostalgic, feel good moments, there is also tension.

And that is kind of what makes this show interesting from a Cozy Comfort Club perspective.

If you are someone who enjoys stories that feel a little more raw, a little more honest, and not perfectly polished, I think you might really connect with this one.

Watch When:

Watch when you are in the mood for something nostalgic and romantic, but not necessarily light.

This is one of those watches where you might find yourself thinking about your own past a little bit. Early relationships, late night conversations, all of that.

Not really a background show, but definitely something to sit with.

Cozy Reflection:

This one sits in that in between space for me.

There are cozy moments. The connection, the nostalgia, the softness of certain scenes.

But then there are other parts that feel a bit heavier and more tense.

So not fully cozy, but still comforting in moments.
