Mr. Malcolm’s List | A Charming Regency Romance Worth Watching?

In today’s episode of Cozy Comfort Club, we’re stepping into the elegant Regency world of Mr. Malcolm’s List.

This film has actually been on my watchlist for a while — it was released in 2022 — and I was really curious to finally see how this romantic story would unfold.

The story begins when the very particular Mr. Malcolm gains a reputation for having a strict “list” of qualities that his future wife must meet. After being embarrassed by him, Julia Thistlewaite sets a plan in motion and convinces her friend Selina Dalton to pursue Mr. Malcolm… while secretly meeting every requirement on his list.

But as Selina spends more time with him, the plan becomes more complicated than anyone expected.

In this episode, I’m sharing my thoughts on the film’s elegant Regency setting, the themes of compatibility and friendship, and how pride and jealousy quietly influence several of the relationships in the story.

We’ll also talk about what makes this film such a refreshing take on the period drama genre, especially with its diverse casting and charming romantic tone.

So the real question becomes…

Can love ever truly follow a perfect list?
